Privacy
What we do with your information.
The plain version: we use your information to make and send your cards, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or hand it to anyone beyond the few services that help us run MightyQuill. Below is the fuller version.

What we collect
- –Your email address, so you can sign in without a password.
- –What you put into a card: names, occasions, the words you write or ask us to write, and any photos you upload.
- –Your voice profile, if you set one: how formal you are, what you call people, and any words you have asked us never to use.
- –The people you add as recipients: a name, and an email address or birthday if you give one.
- –Replies written back to you through a card, and whether a card has been opened.
What we use it for
- –Writing and illustrating your cards, in the voice you have set.
- –Sending your cards on your behalf, and delivering replies back to you.
- –Remembering your people, so we can tell you when a birthday is coming up and what you sent them last time.
- –Keeping your account signed in and your library in order.
We do not use anything you upload or write to train AI models, advertise to you, or build a profile of you for marketing. There is no advertising or analytics tracking anywhere on MightyQuill.
Photos, specifically
Photos are used to make your cards, and nothing else. They are not sold, shared, or used to advertise to you. Making a drawn picture from a photo does mean sending it to one of the illustration services below, but only to produce that picture for your card, in the same way as printing a photo means handing it to a photo lab.
Who else sees it
A handful of specialist services help us run MightyQuill. Each only sees what it needs to do its one job, and none of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- –A cloud hosting provider stores your account, your cards, and your photos.
- –An AI writing service writes the words on a card, from what you have told us and your voice profile.
- –AI image services generate and illustrate artwork, including turning a photo into a drawn picture where you have asked for that.
- –An email delivery service sends the emails MightyQuill sends: sign-in codes, cards, and reply notifications.
Some of these are based outside the UK and Europe, so using them means your information can be processed there. Where that happens, it is under a data protection agreement that requires them to protect it to UK standards.
Cookies and your browser
MightyQuill uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. There is no advertising cookie and no analytics cookie. Your browser may also remember one or two small preferences locally, such as whether you have already seen a tip, which never leaves your device.
Recipients
Someone you send a card to does not need an account. Opening a card and writing a reply only needs the private link it was sent on. If you give us their email address so we can deliver the card, we use it for that delivery and nothing else.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your cards, photos, and account for as long as your account exists, since the whole point of MightyQuill is a card you can come back to and send again. Delete a card, a photo, or your account and we remove it. Get in touch if you would like a copy of what we hold about you, or want it removed sooner.
Changes to this policy
If this changes in any way that matters, we will say so here and update the date at the top.
